March 2, 2023 - Color: Deep, inky, almost black with ruby rim
Nose: Tar, violets, plums, toast. Very nice.
Palate: Sweet red fruit flavors. Still quite tannic and feels a bit flat and hollow due to low(ish) acid.
Overall: This has opened up since my last bottle five years ago. I don't think this will ever become completely harmonious since the tannin seems to outweigh the fruit. That said, this would be great with a steak or pasta with rich red sauce. Drink now. No reason to hold. -
