Medium straw color, clean and youthful looking
Aromatics screams German! Lots of flint and minerally driven nose. Fruity profile of granny smith apple, peach, Asian pear, nectarine, lime. After half an hour, some petrol-like characters starting to develop. Very regal nose indeed.
The palate is sharp but not sharp edged. Medium body, medium plus acidity, dry but surely with some residual sugar to balance out the high acidic content. Similar fruit profile to the nose with some bee wax, bitter freshness. Midpalate is slightly shallow but finish is strong and very long.
This could be even better scored, had the midpalate hold up to the rest of the wine. Clearly very well made and evolved very gracefully. I think this is a drink now because of the hallowed midpalate but otherwise, capable of aging a decade or more. 91. -
