October 23, 2014 - What a difference a few years makes. I bought a case on release based on CC commentary of the vineyard. Drank most within first 6 years and was terribly disappointed. I wrote it off because of the vintage. I should know this by now as I have been drinking wine for a long time but burgundy no matter the level needs time. Sure they are drinkable early but they just don't offer the real goods until 10+ years....minimum. Sorry for the long preamble ... The wine isn't great but it is so much better than it was a few years ago. Youthful color gives way to a lovely nose of pure Pinot fruit and a touch of spice. It has weight and presence on the palate. Good flavor saturation and decent verve. Only nit is slight bitterness on the finish. Has real presence for its level. Just let it age.... (87)

February 23, 2012 - This is one crazy wine. Deep garnet color - looks like it is one day old. Rather forceful, red fruited nose that displays considerable power. Ripe and new worldish, but nice. The wine us all over the place on the palate. Some nice ripe fruit, but a huge finish of raw stem tannins is frankly unappetizing. The fruit has matured but I am afraid the raw structure is just too much. Oh well, at least it was cheap. (75)

December 23, 2010 - Pure, deep ruby. Medicinal and rubber tire infused red and black pinot fruit. Settled down some with air, but a good bit of rusticity remains. Full bodied, rich and strong for a Bourgogne. The vintage is very clear here as there is little elegance. A decent, gutsy mouthful of wine, that fades quickly and leaves only a so-so impression. (83)

October 29, 2009 - Dull ruby. Grapy fruit nose with some structural elements peaking out. Rounds, fairly full bodied. Good up front, but this bottle shows a distinct bitterness on the finish. Not so nice. (82)

September 8, 2009 - Electric deep ruby color. Wild nose of strawberry and mure jam – yes that sweet. This has always been a rather erratic wine. The nose reminds me of Alsatian fruit liquor. The palate is better now than it was a few years ago. Sweet, yet light to medium body. A touch of tannin on the back end. No complexity, but I can drink this now with pleasure which is more than I could say with past bottles. Just weird. (84)
