Community Tasting Notes 6

July 1, 2021 - cherry, plum, baked strawberry fruit and toasty vanilla oak note.
In a good place right now with velvety mouth feel and good length on the palate. At peak point of drinking now I'd say.

June 27, 2021 - Tho k past its best. All the power gone and whilst still a lovely wine is without many characteristics, would have expected it to have aged a bit better and retain some freshness, but not so much. Still pleasant to drink. Mostly old leather and a touch of vanilla from the oak. Drink up.

May 1, 2017 - Weekly tasting group RWP #255: Every taster brought a flight. No rules. (@ My place): In the bouquet dark berries, cherries, licorice, chocolate and some barnyard. On the palate red berries, clove, coffee, animals, chocolate, some sweetness and ok acidity. Nice wine.

September 11, 2016 - on the nose dark cherries, cola, prune, vanilla, orange peel, herbs
medium body, medium tannin, medium fruit, long spicy finish (clove)
    simple & straightforward.
    good pairing with chicken paella.

April 9, 2016 - Big, bold and potent on opening. This wine needs airing for a couple of hours at least. The nose is oaky with dark fruits and herbal notes. In the mouth it was really tannic to begin. After settling down it becomes a very smooth and we'll balanced drink. The tannins subsided and the acidity was complementary. The finish has an almost chalky quality to it. Bought this as part of Fernandez mixed case, excellent value.
