August 18, 2023 - A good if not great rendition of this wine. Fruit is mellow with some brightness, but not quite the length or persistence of a Grand Cru. Perhaps it could develop further but I’m doubtful of it’s ultimate outcome.

November 1, 2022 - Nose: Guava, brioche, flint stone, pear
Notes: relativelt light bodied with a nicely balanced minerality profile here, just the right amount without the "steely" and intimidating palate. I've had the chance to try its 11 and 12 and I think the 13 has a more balanced profile. This wine is still very young and lively, no signs of oxidation and should last for at least another decade. Nevertheless, it is a bit unfortunate that Montille whites can sometimes be lacking the intensity that belongs to a well made grand cru white, certainly a good wine but it is often the intensity and details that differentiates a good and great wine. I think I can conclude that Montille Corton Charlemagne does not offer the type of sensation that I'm looking for in a great white wine.

November 1, 2022 - Flinty nose with peach, grapefruit and stone fruit. More Puligny than CC. Prefer more fatness for a CC.

August 17, 2022 - Lots of acidity here and a bit on the tart side. Also, somewhat light for this vineyard. Still, a nice wine, but perhaps will not turn into a great one.

August 13, 2022 - medium yellow color, on the nose quiet, light game note, on the palate thick and textured, buttery ripe fruit countered with firm acids, very primary and somewhat in hiding, at the moment this comes off a bit hollow but that could be the the timing, with airing it developed it fleshed out nicely with a good firm finish, should age well but I do not think it will have the full drama of a great Corton-Charlemagne.

July 13, 2022 - very nice with really bright / lemony body when opened... then actually took more of a turn toward roundness than I expected over 3-4 hours of decanting... I wish the volume had been turned down on the change... ie it was a good direction but too much and ended up being a little less lifted than I like (but then again it is Corton Charlie

March 24, 2022 - Meals in France; 3/21/2022-3/26/2022 (France): Nicely fresh green apple, lemon, and candied lemon peel. Comes across as wonderfully savory with a faint sweetness on finish that will probably integrate even further. Very good weight and length. Like most 2013 white Burgundy, this is better now vs when tasted shortly after release.

March 18, 2022 - Nose of apples and something a little more tropical with a hint of beeswax. The palate is dense and concentrated with red and green apples, crushed stones and again a slight waxy texture. Very concentrated, almost like it has a bit of dry extract. Impressive.

May 1, 2020 - A truly sensational wine. Absolutely loads of lovely rich lemon curd, fantastic body but also a wonderful linearity, and a finish that stays with you for ages.

July 28, 2019 - Not a lot to report on the nose, but a beautiful tropical hint on the palate and a subtle and incredibly well-managed note of oak on the finish that makes this a real stunner of a Chardonnay. Exquisite. This is probably as good as the Clos Blanc de Vougeot and therefore one of the best bottles of Burgundy I've had the pleasure of tasting. Sensational stuff from Montille, living up to the name.
