May 12, 2016 - This was way better than I expected. Slightly smoky, almost bordeauxvian. Lots of deep, dark fruit. Long finish. Plenty of glycerine. Enough acid to back it all up. A very good wine probably at its peak.

June 3, 2012 - Deep, rich pinot. Strong earthiness, saturated fruit.

September 2, 2011 - Rich and smooth, dark fruit and also smoky earthy depth.

April 30, 2011 - My #5. Davis is one of my favorite producers of elegantly styled RRV pinots. However, the '05 cannot hold a candle to the '04 or '06 for that matter. Nose is very nice, with fine notes of bing cherries, mushrooms, and forest elements. Palate just did not show same complexity, a little raisiny for me with slightly stringent finish.

April 30, 2011 - Boerne Wine Club - CA Pinot Noir (Scenic Loop Cafe, San Antonio, TX)): Earthy nose, with a little cola and black cherry and licorice on the nose. Soft mild tannins and round lush mouthfeel. Slightly clipped finish but showing some forest floor, mushrooms. Still had nice depth and balance. Good. 89. Group #5
