September 10, 2023 - Pop and pour…really interesting smoked blueberries and strawberry rhubarb …spice edges ….

July 16, 2022 - Very similar to my Aug. 2020 TN. This is full throttle Pinot. Not in my wheelhouse for what I'm looking for in Pinot Noir, but with the right food - this time hanger steak - and mood it work. The varietal character is there if you look for it, but in a deep tone with edges of brown sugar and caramelized fruit, yet it's not gloppy and doesn't feel extracted or heavy, it finishes clean and has enough freshness to make it enjoyable for more than just a single glass. An excellent wine, but no score since the style is just too far from my zone.

14.9% abv and has all of the warmth and texture you'd expect from a wine bumping up against 15%. If you'd told me it was 15.5% abv, I'd believe you even though there was no volatile alcohol on the nose.

    Big, heavy bottle.

Glad to have tried this wine at the Benchmark Bin Sale price of $47 delivered.

January 10, 2021 - This wine punches hard. Big fruit. Big mouthfeel. Some astringency. Moderate acid. Nice finish. Might have enjoyed more but drank alongside a mortal coil and preferred the balance, finesse and more moderate approach on the mc slightly better.

September 4, 2020 - This is back from the Russel Bevan era - leather and cherry on the nose. still has good fruit, syrupy cherry, Burgundian broodiness (from my friend Steve), some alcohol, perfect drinking window. Not sure how much longer these have but given the recent reviews I’m going to be pushing through my library selections - highly recommend others do the same, these are in a brilliant state before they go all secondary on us, unless you are way into that. 95-96

August 29, 2020 - I was in the mood for a deeper, riper Pinot and I found one with this wine. This retains varietal character, but the ripeness and style are dialed too far for my taste. I was even getting a brown sugar note along with an impression of sweetness. The lamb sirloin I paired this with would have been better served with a more classic Pinot, something more elegant.

Note to self regarding the remaining bottle: Pair this with the heartiest or deepest flavored meal. This could pair well when thinking about a CdP.

I'd rate it a very good wine, an '88', but I can see how fans of the style favoring very deep, ripe, sweet fruit would rate this wine higher, because it does show nice balance and varietal character along with those characteristics.
