December 14, 2020 - I would echo much of Canuckgivers note - the interplay between the varietals is wonderful. Smoky, peppery, butchers shop from the Syrah, sweet dried fruits from the Grenache. There is a rustic quality to this, so a certain level of polish has slipped, but it's still very charming and modern while retaining a sense of honesty in the winemaking. On a long plateau.

April 8, 2020 - I must reinforce Zut Alors' note - STILL stunning after all these years. We were prepared for an okay experience, noting the drinking window we had all attributed to this wine. It absolutely sang, with sweet fruit and a seamless hand-off between the Syrah and Grenache as it developed in the glass, with neither regrets about the front-end nor the back-end of our journey through the bottle

August 21, 2017 - A stunning wine. The pepper notes, thanks to the syrah, hit the front of the mouth announcing that this is a complex wine. Then the sylvan smooth grenache takes a bow and provides deep flavors of blackberry and licorice. The blend really got integrated after about a half hour. A Rhone as good as they get. This is Ch du Pape level of quality.

November 26, 2016 - The La Gramière 2011 is a cuvée of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah, with vinification in concrete. A rustic, gamey nose of blackberry reduction sauce, beef jerky, freshly turned soil and violets. Aging in concrete has produced a wine that is both fresh with texturally fine tannins. There is high acidity here, too and with mostly black fruit framed in white pepper, spice, celery seed, and perhaps a less favorable herbaceous, stemmy green quality that lingers with a metallic note. 13.5% ABV | Sample

February 29, 2016 - Very nice nose, dominate anise ans red fruit. Strong flavor profile throughout the palate. Low acid, moderate tannins and body. Nice lasting finish.
