Community Tasting Notes 3

February 23, 2017 - Pure dark fruit hits the nose and palate. Velvety, concentrated palate feel. Fruit comes first but I would call it jammy. Some soft tannin and ample acid to keep the finish clean. Slight scrub and stoney aromas. You noticed that very south ripe Grenache character underneath. Similar to a good Rousillon. Very good for the money. Will stand up to short term aging but a wine that will show best while it's fruit is still strong and on the bigger side. Plus it has that utterly fantastic old school label...

December 2, 2015 - Dark and concentrated red color with pink, slightly transparent edge. Nose has raisins, oak, ground pepper and fruit. Very enjoyable nose. Tastes sweet, powerful and balanced. Very good.

March 7, 2015 - Ultimo lunch time tasting (Ultimo wine centre (but now vintage cellars)): Leather, slightly meaty, cedar and muted red berry fruit on the nose. In the mouth the wine is almost off dry with ripe red berries - especially raspberry - that are quite spicy and rambunctious. Then there are considerable chalky tannins. Hmm
