Community Tasting Notes 3

April 25, 2016 - My second note on this wine. Decanted 1 hr. ahead. Medium garnet color, with a touch of orange. Nice nose of cherries, herbs, some oak. Light-medium body on the palate, delicious, with friendly acid balance and good fruit-spice flavors. Finishes fast with light grip and low tannins. The winery calls this a super-Tuscan blend. I with my California palate do not know what that means. It does taste like a sangiovese-led blend that's extremely surpable with a good QPR. Forget the labels and just drink this.

July 16, 2015 - Decanted 1 hr. ahead. Deep garnet. Very nice nose of cherries, blackberries, hard spices, and a hint of creosote. Delicious on the palate, medium-bodied, not tart, with nice berry flavors mixing with spices. The finish is drying, quick, and uncomplicated, with very low tannins. This wine is dangerously slurpable. Very appealing, good QPR.

June 2, 2015 - Very fruit forward-blueberry and strawberry, more so than I recall tasting at the winery. Fun for sipping and with pasta but not outstanding for the price.
