August 28, 2016 - Blind Tasting - New Zealand Syrah (Epsom, Auckland): impenetrable dark red. dense bouquet, black fruits, spices, concentrated in mouth, firm tannins, long finish. amazing one, the biggest in four, and no surprise to be voted as #1.
17 months in 50% new French oak, RC 18.5+

June 19, 2016 - Game of Rhones (Carriageworks, Redfern): concentrated but perfumed plum, cream and vanilla…dense plummy fruit and massive, chewy, drying tannins. Touches of Durif almost! Nah.
