January 31, 2021 - Lovely champagne. Very round and creamy lushness with a long finish. A few years of bottle aging did a good job.

October 18, 2017 - Tasting together with Jérôme Legras.

    Powerful. Slightly oxidative.
    Concentrated, complex, showing maturity.

    Perpetual tank: 2 villages (Chouilly & Ay), 2 grapes (50/50: CH/PN) and best vintages only - '95, '96, '99, '02, '04, '06, '07, '08, '09. MLF, no oak.
Production volume: 6-8K btls every 2-4 years.
More Dosage: 8g/l. 5 years spent on lees.

That is the 8th time they release this wine, so this where #8 comes from.

    Wine for Champagne geeks.

July 31, 2017 - (Disgorged in April 2016, 50% Chardonnay from Chouilly and 50% Pinot noir from Aÿ)
Light yellow colour with a stream of fine bubbles and a nose showing raspberries, acacia flowers and sweet apples in a positive and youthful way. Light and graceful palate with a fresh and fruitful apple note and also showing roses and minerals with a long citrus finish. This was a very good cuvée and one of the best showings of Exigance I've had so far... Best 2018-2028.

May 15, 2017 - Champagnemiddag med FVL (Restaurang Hantverket): (Multi vintage, 50% Chouilly CH, 50% Ay PN, bästa åren sedan 95-96-99-02-04-06-07-08-09, Disgorged April 2016, 6 years on lees)
Much more evolved nose compared to the other cuvées of the producer showing hints of burnt caramel, mineral and citrus. Palate is soft and round but still with a fresh acidity and a long finish. This feels more fresh and cripst in comparison to the Exigance No 7 in its youth and it should probably evolve well with some years of extra cellaring. But it's hard to keep since it's drinking so nicely already! Best 2018-2028.
