May 1, 2016 - Consistently superb, one of my favorite Otago pinot.

February 13, 2016 - Drank this today at Jade Palace Restaurant to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

Crimson red in colour with a charming nose with strawberries and cherries. On the palate the wine is very clean, lean and light. Smooth and silky texture without much complexity or dimensions.

August 9, 2015 - Lovely wine. Not at all a fruit bomb. Overwhelming favourite at my dinner party last night where it took on similarly-priced wines from Burgundy and Prince Edward County.

June 29, 2015 - Compared to the 2011, quite a sappy, red fruit nose. Some violets and strawberries. Touch of confit fruit too. Not sure about the nose. Quite an austere palate too - showing this not so great vintage in CO. Sharp acidity on red cherry base. Just too lean and too sharp for me.

December 22, 2014 - Central Otago Visit; 12/20/2014-1/1/2015 (Queenstown and surrounds, Central Otago, New Zealand): Transparent but deep jeweled ruby red. Very clean and clear. Nose is white mushroom, animal fur, fresh black cherries and a hint of fresh-sawn white plank wood...... Burgundian rather than typical New World. Palate is nicely fresh acidity the gives a lift to black cherry skins, cherry pit and espresso. Quite tannic on the back end but not intrusively so. There is some elegant winemaking at play here. Is made for drinking young but should improve over the next two years. I really like this even though it is the richer Otago style than I normally prefer. Very moreish.
