March 15, 2018 - While this starts a bit esoteric and stemmy, with sufficient air you will get quite the transformation, with the key changes being a lovely intensity of overripe cherry and an absolutely singing long finish. Great Barbera

October 12, 2015 - 2015 Visit to G.B. Burlotto: But there is a serious step up in quality here. Signature, classic Barbera nose. More exotic and rich nose than the Classic beside it. Almost a cocoa element. ‘A little rabbit guts’, Helen said, meaning it as a positive descriptor. On palate, a more complex, broader shouldered wine. Richer, deeper with a core of dark fruit and flavours of chocolate, orange peel and some chalk on the back. Intense. A serious wine with good length. Approachable enough now to drink but a cellar wine (5+ years, I’d say).
