September 10, 2023 - Not my favourite Marginale - 2012 was a lean vintage and the Germain style accentuates the leanness. There simply isn't enough fruit. The first evening I gave up after half a glass and went in search of something else, the second evening it had improved slightly - that plus the very hot weather made it quite refreshing. Not a patch on the 2011 at the same price, for example.

May 23, 2023 - Dark fruit (cherry, blackberry), pepper, herbal, spice, slight earth, smooth. Good acidity. Lingering finish. Really enjoyable

November 11, 2022 - Very good showing. Herbaceous and deep red fruits. Balanced andclassic Saumur-Champigny Cabernet Franc.

September 29, 2022 - Great showing. Has herbs, plenty of red fruit, fine depth and a prette little sweet touch to make up for the rather strict style. Needs a bit of air. Still young.

February 19, 2022 - I have difficulties with the Thierry Germain wines. They are highly rated, however anytime I open a bottle of red, I do not like it. Not expressing much. Very "stark". Not your classic juicy Saumur Champigny. Pass.
