February 7, 2024 - From magnum. Splash decanted, consumed over 2 hours. Oak on the nose, but not nearly as obvious on the palate. Somehow both well integrated and tight at the same time, probably needs more time. Plenty of high quality stuffing, for sure.

December 9, 2023 - 91-92. Plum, cherry, blackberry upfront. Then orange peel and grilled fennel with some tobacco. Starting to show some ageing but still very nice. Drink now.

April 17, 2023 - These wines have frustrated me in the past by being too young and withdrawn but this is starting to show considerable character. Blue fruit with some coffee in the nose and a rich meld of plums and tobacco and iron on the medium to full palate. Built to last a long time. My last 750 and I’m holding the 2 magnums for at least 5 years.

February 25, 2023 - balanced Rioja Reserva from CVNE: cherry, plum, prune, espresso, black currant, tobacco, soft oak, earthy note, medium body, solid finish. In a good spot, yet years of life ahead.
