April 27, 2024 - Decanted to serve but rather shut tonight. It showed glimpse of pure purple fruit and spice at the 90 min mark with finesse. No doubt it reflected the weaker vintage but the Roumier MSD really punching way above its class in this vintage.

February 1, 2024 - Roumier MSD Bussiere vertikal

    13
Mørk og krydret med et klart yoghurt-innslag. Klassisk Roumier-tett og utilgjengelig. Men begynner å lette litt på sløret.

I munn er konsentrasjonen god. Sitter lenge. Strukturen fungerer uten å tørre eller stramme. Flott vin. 92p

Ingen tvil om at denne har samme DNA. Synes nesa er veldig lik 13. Men 14 føles litt mer kantete på duft. Litt mer skrinn både på nese og i munn. 90p

    15
    Kork

    16
Denne har mindre eleganse på duft. Sødmefull og mer flat. Syltetøy. I munn er den nokså tynn. Varmeskade?

    17
Mer dybde igjen her, selv om den er altfor ung. Forblir tett og noe trå. Men solid konsentrasjon og lengde, så potensialet er der. 92

November 23, 2023 - Second time with roumier, first time with 13 vintage so not as many points of reference as most.. Dark red fruit, evolving nose of spices, soil, incense (sandalwood), medium tannins medium acid. Feels like what a good Burgundy is supposed to taste like.. Definitely tastes like it has some age but also the Wine is really robust and didn't taste like it was fading for 4ish hours. Not the most mind blowing wine but solid and a treat for sure

September 22, 2023 - Casual Friday Lunch (Langdon Hall, Cambridge, ON): This pours medium to light ruby in the glass. The nose is initially good but really finds an extra gear with an hour or two of air. Aromas are of dark cherry, charcoal, loamy soil, sanadalwood, hazelnut, star anise, and thyme. Really quite stunning aromatics by the end of the experience. The palate is structured for significant further aging, entering on the bright dark cherry fruit, turning to medium tannin and medium plus acid. The finish lingers quite nicely, replaying some of the spiced character of the nose. Initially I felt this was good and definitely better than the village Chambolle poured next to it from the same vintage, but I felt the gap kept getting wider. This is offering some really nice early appeal and felt like quite a complete wine to me.

September 16, 2023 - Dinner and drinks at Thomson. Drank in Conterno Sensory over 3 hours. Initially austere and tight, but took a while and with air in bottle and swirling in the glass it revealed its wild charms.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of deep red cherries, dark red plums, licorice, bit of wild earth showing more with more air. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), medium tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of dark red plums, deep red cherries, licorice, deep wild earth that gets very savoury and mixed with salty minerality also with more air. Long finish.
Very good quality. Just about broachable now only with air time. Will probably need another 6-7 years to show its best.
