November 23, 2023 - Drank alongside a 14 Meo Feusselottes. Interesting contrast between the silky elegance of the Premier Cru and the power and depth of the Echezeaux. The Grivot was definitely in balance but the darker fruited palate and underlying bramble and spice really showed next to the Meo. No rush to drink this...it's in a great spot, but there might be some upside in letting a litter more finesse develop. Delicious.

May 15, 2019 - Unfortunately, this 2013 Jean Grivot Echezeaux was heavily reduced and the sulphur dioxide smell hindered the wine throughout the evening. The wine was subsequently decanted for 3 hours but the reduction was only marginally less severe. Smelly diapers with austere grip, 2013 characteristics, 2013 Jean Grivot? This was my second bottle of Grivot Echezeaux and the previous bottle, a 2010 was also heavily reduced. Not quite sure whether that was the case in all Grivot’s 2013 but this bottle was certainly faulty. Not rated.
