Community Tasting Notes 140

November 13, 2023 - Somehow lost track of this, a wine that I should have opened 3 to 5 years ago. Bright red, with no bricking. Nice, but shy nose - smells like a syrah! Blueberries on the palate and a decent finish. Tannins are completely gone. At its peak, it probably would have earned a score of 90. Although it's still pleasant, it's no longer close to balanced. Now, I'd give it an 84, so I've split the difference.

December 9, 2022 - Getting toward the end. Good but not great bottle.

May 30, 2022 - Unlike a bottle about four months ago , this one showed quite tight and a bit drying on the finish

January 8, 2022 - This was easily the best showing of the better part of a case consumed. This bottle has shed a good bit of its fruit to develop more savory notes, a decent nose coaxed by some swirling, just enough remaining tannin for structure. For my tastes and from a very small data set, I find these bedrock syrahs best about 8 or 9 years after the vintage date.
