June 12, 2016 - This is an unusually big Pinot for the terroir. Granted I've had some pretty explosive Pinots from vineyards such as Bien Nacido and Neilson, so maybe it's a clone and/or site thing? Nevertheless, this is a fantastic wine. On the nose: matchsticks, vanilla cream, and dark cherries. On the palate: vanilla soaked red fruits, French oak, and tons of "Santa Maria" spice. This Pinot is almost on par with Sea Smoke out of the Sta. Rita Hills. Definitely a dark, heavy Pinot. You don't want to rush this one as it'll beat you every time.

June 7, 2016 - Nose: Interesting mix of moss, tree bark and herbs. Palate: Flavors of tart cherries and some sweet strawberry. Light finish. Decent for under $15 at Costco but for another dollar I can get LaCrema which outperforms this. 88+ points.
