This was a bit of a more serious Zin for me. yes, I got all the usual suspect confected fruit notes but the oak/tannin profile was more savoury and chunkier than I remember it (though there is still some vanilla essence here). Confected cherry, sweet spice, alcohol heat & vanilla on the nose…as expected some would say. It's sweet but quite hard on the palate, talc textured tannins over ripe cherry fruit with chocolate. Alcohol heat encroaches on the finish. Hmm.
