  March 8, 2022 - Massive flavour profile with black cherry fruit transforming to mocha and black chocolate. In the background there is a massive tannic hit and the wine itself is quite oaky and heavily extracted. While appealing to the “international” palate or New World style this is still an impressive beast which will attract plenty of plaudits. CHP 92 pts

  July 29, 2020 - This la Rioja is in a great place right now with excellent balance of brambly black and red fruit, earthiness, porcini mushrooms, leather and clove. This wine went fantastic with our oven dried tomatoe, and garden vegetables, pasta salad.

  February 26, 2020 - Beautiful dark color, almost black in the glass. Nose of black fruit and cedar. Perfect weight and mouth feel. The palate (not as expressive as the nose) was slightly behind the nose in quality and that's the only thing holding it back from a higher score.

  July 2, 2016 - This was a bit closed. Classy aromas of raspberries, blueberries, cherries, cloves, tea and leather. Its medium bodied vigorous yet elegant, lacy fresh palate has excellent concentration, a plump multilayered middle with cloves meshed with the blue and red fruits. Ends longish, fruity and a little austere. Could be laid down for 10 years+. Needs 5hrs aeration.
