October 13, 2020 - This wine seems to be shutting down a bit. Had it opened for five hours but it did not really reveal anything until about 8 hours in. By then, it was showing not only the density and rather monothic power of this wine. but also a nice level of complexity, balance, hinting at so much more. Tasted in a lineup with 2009 Maybach Amoenus, 2012 Memento Mori, 2012 Brand, 2012 Continuum, 2014 Alpha Omega Beckstoffer Dr. Crane and 2014 Alejandro Bulgheroni and it was abou mid tier in this group.

July 19, 2020 - Double decanted for 2 hrs, deep ruby, black & dark red fruit, med/firm tannins, long finish; outstanding, drink or hold

June 27, 2020 - Wow! What a fantastic bottle of wine. This is such a beauty. The nose was filled with a heavy nose of blackcurrant liquor, black cherries, spice cake, and a touch of eucalyptus. The palate - so rich, dense, concentrated, full bodied, tannins still very much present. This is destined for the long haul. The finish is forever. Words cannot due this wine justice. This has to be on the best wines I've ever had from Pritchard Hill.

I recently had the 2011 Brand Cab - I felt it was a little more approachable at this time, a bit softer. This 2012 felt like its big brother. A pure powerhouse. Give it a long decant for at least 2 hours - or preferably another 5 years in the cellar to really bring it together. I think it may go up a point or 2 in the coming years to polish off the edges. This is really coming together to be a terrific wine!
