November 7, 2022 - 1985 Castello de Neive Barbaresco, which for me was the wine of the night. It was not the best wine of the night, but rather was the wine that we drank at it’s best moment. Bright red fruit on the nose along with some subtle soil tones, a hint of dried flowers and a little submerged cap dirtiness. In the mouth this was Very fine and terrific detail and purity to the slightly Jammy wild raspberry fruit. Light, almost perfectly resolved, long and very fine and silky, with a touch of citrus on the finale. Delicate, with lovely transparency. Just a delicious wine, so drinkable, glad I have one last bottle from a case bought on release!

July 10, 2019 - Terrific aged Barbaresco. Just delicious.

February 26, 2014 - This bottle was OK but porty tasting, maybe a little oxidized and over the hill.
    One more to try.

August 19, 2013 - Fantastic nose of dried fruits and spearmint. Rich, robust, rustic and full palate of plums, prunes, iron, leather and tar, very balanced and satisfying all the way to the dusty, tarry long finish. Lots of sediment in this bottle. Went perfectly with meat pasta with marinara sauce. Awesome!

February 2, 2008 - lots of life left in this bottle. Dusty garnet -- needs to be stood up for a couple of days to let sediment settle -- with sweet cherry and crushed berry fruit. Underneath, iron and tar, soy and earth, with noticeable acidity on the finish.
