May 20, 2021 - Quite a deep colour; full, rather meaty fruit, slightly cooked and with an earthy, savoury element. A dense, concentrated wine, but rather burly. A lot of fruit and a lot of tannin still, but seeming mature. I prefer the 2006, which is more supple.

February 28, 2021 - Still even ruby. Ripe red fruit, char, and a late bit of green. Medium body, gently woody base, pretty substantial feel for a Charmes. Poised but sweet ripe cherry fruit, some resin, sap, and soil, gentle tannins. This seems like typical Geantet-well done with excellent underlying fruit, but somehow neither scintillating nor terribly complex. It will last, though, and maybe there is room for modest improvement.

November 7, 2020 - Good quality, but too much wood

September 15, 2020 - This has held on to its fruit quite well but is far too oaky for my taste.

July 30, 2018 - This has a deep colour and a full, quite intense, but also rather soft palate, with slightly sweet, ripe fruit and perhaps a little tannin on the finish. This is excellent, and an attractive wine now although it should continue to develop over the next 5 years or so.
