March 6, 2022 - really nice barolo. Needs some air - best after 2-4H.

October 24, 2021 - really nice! Surprised after reading some of the recent notes. Must have been a well stored bottle.

May 26, 2015 - Have to agree with Futronic's 2011 tasting note. After a good nose the wine is short, taut and drying. Decanting, aeration and food helped very little, and it was only the small amount saved for day 3 which had any energy or interest to it. Disappointing.

June 19, 2011 - Slow-ox'd for four hours, decanted for two hours, and checked in on throughout this period. Light garnet/orange colour with a good amount of bricking. Aromas of alcohol, orange pekoe tea, leather, dried orange peel, earth, a slight hint of herbs/dill. Light-medium bodied, with alcohol, tea, leather, mushroom. A little thin, and with the tannins clamping down on the wine it doesn't make for an overly pleasant drink. The 1998 vintage of this wine was significantly better, and frankly, the 1999 was a serious disappointment. Not sure what happened in the vineyards or cellar this year, but I can't possibly see how this wine will improve. Might as well drink it now before everything else aside from the tannins drop out. Drink now.
