November 21, 2015 - Inky blue purple, medium plus viscosity; aromas of red fruit and blueberries, modest oak. Opens on the palate with blueberry and plum, a bit of brambly blackberry. Chewy tannins, decent acidity, and enough wood to balance out the package without hitting you over the head with it. Falls apart a bit on the finish, and there's nothing complex or profound here. Still, an inexpensive and varietally correct (if relatively simple) offering that will work well with a variety of foods so long as they're sufficiently assertive.

June 27, 2015 - '02 Guenoc PS was the wine that got me into wine. Haven't tried any since '05 vintage and when I saw this at TJ's, I had to part with the $8. I know these grapes come from outside Lake County, but it still makes a pretty good impression. Singular and simple, lots of tannins and good acidity, the flavor is varietally correct and pretty much how I remember it from 10 years ago. What I really wish, is that they still produced the fabulous PS port that I used to enjoy from Langtry/Guenoc. 4+9+14+7=84

June 4, 2015 - A super wine for $7. Tastes like a $20 + petite syrah. Full bodied, complex, not a fruit bomb, but with some great berry notes.

May 15, 2015 - This is a light bodied Petite Sirah with a sweet, wet graphite on the nose. Plum and cherry on the palette with mineral and light cigar on the finish! Very tasty and balanced with medium tannins. Very good for this price range!
