June 18, 2021 - Part of a tasting of five older Truchard wines. Bright, translucent orange-red color. Clean, earthy nose. Bright cherry fruit, faded but pleasant, bit if pepper. Nicely resolved tannins, nice acidity and balance. A nice round mouthfeel. Finishes short with slightly faded red fruits. Not shot but I'd drink up.

January 22, 2017 - This was my first ever Truchard Syrah. I was impressed. It had aged well and showed no signs of deterioration.
Opened and poured and drank immediately. Classic Syrah characteristics with a subdued but distinct peppery tone. Paired beautifully with a marinated steak. Smooth finish not at all hot but with a touch of alcohol. -

August 15, 2006 - This wine was earthy and delicious. The color was shimmering sapphire. The nose was filled with the earthy scents of mushrooms and plums and prunes. The taste was very balanced with earthy flavors of ripe plums, prunes and giroles. The finish was long on ripe black plummy fruit and mushrooms.
