September 30, 2017 - Smelled immediately heat damaged or oxidized despite perfect cork and fill and required an hour of air to freshen up (something I've noticed a lot in mature Sangiovese recently). Some rusty iron, tart pie cherries, terracotta, firm and requiring food.

November 9, 2013 - w/ MN, CC1, CC4, Ines, Carlos. CC1 birthday. Irreproducible risotto. Wow! what a fantastic wine! Opened 2 hrs before dinner, did not decant. Beautiful color, brick rim and deep colored glass. Perfect cork. Wonderful tertiaries, still lots of fruit. Incredible complexity, balanced acidity kept it all together. Smell was truly inebriating, Lots of am arena cherry, slight leather and tar. Wow!

April 2, 2012 - still drinkable but a bit tired

June 6, 2006 - Perfect, limpid, blood red. Slight browning at extreme rim, but looking good for its age. Rich nose, but not especially fine, of hedgerow berries and mocha. Full mouth entry, lots of dark fruit flavours and a strong backbone of acidity holding it all together. Decent length with some astringent tannins coming through on the finish. Plenty here, but not very refined or harmonious. Probably better a few years back with a bit more fruit.
