  February 23, 2019 - Savoring an unexpected night off due to the blizzard! The oldest vintage I've ever had, the brewer's licorice still manages to be the highlight, showing off flavors of dark cacao and aged coffee, bitter but not astringent. A medium body adds heft to a beer that is traditionally unabashedly dark, with a medium-dry finish and absolutely no residual sweetness. 5 years later, the dark still stares back!

  A real. good. beer. Just do NOT make the mistake of serving it straight out of the fridge. Stick to that 50-55 degree F recommendation as a huge difference in the flavor. Posting a second note in NV as haven't decided if it wouldn't be better just to have NV when it comes to beer. Vintage certainly helps w/ drinking window, but kinda like the idea of all the tasting notes together...
