Community Tasting Notes 4

December 26, 2022 - Nose has a hint of leather. Palette is much lighter than expected for a cab franc, also still somewhat tannic despite being 10 years old. Probably not much life left in this one, so drink up

October 19, 2016 - PnVnD 2/3 of the bottle let air for 90mins. Dark garnet purple with violet to clear rim. Dark cherry sour cherry plum red currant bell pepper and tobacco on the nose. Medium weight with stemmy green tea tannins. Charred cherry red currant tobacco and red pepper on the palate. Very dry slightly astringent finish. Losing fruit and becoming to sharp and herbal. Not nearly as good as the previous bottle. Drink up.

January 23, 2016 - Canada Tasting (Oinoscent): High intensity of green bell pepper, smoked meat, curred meat, tomatoes, spicy, like smelling a freshly baked pizza !!! I've never seen that before. Tones of oak, very rustic wine for hearty dishes. The green bell pepper notes add freshness and elevate the smoke/burnt notes of the (probably) m+ toasted oak used.
In the palate, the wine shows very ripe black fruit, prunes, med body and med+ intensity, big and kind of drying tannins, red fruit flavors after a while, leafy notes too, nice structure, med+ finish.
Outstanding quality, drinking now or hold. I just had to add a point to this for being so surprisingly interesting and weird

December 26, 2014 - Just Popped and poured a glass through the Vinturri. Very dark garnet to purple close to saturated with a scarlet to clear rim. Dark cherry raspberry cedar and cocoa on the nose. Medium weight with black tea tannin. Cherry cassis flavours with a lingering herbal finish. Chunky but fresh needs a ribeye.
