December 26, 2022 - Comme souvent avec ces vieux vins, il avait l'air un brin oxydé à l'ouverture. Il s'est ensuite joliment ouvert et nous a conquis. Excellent!

February 5, 2022 - Everything about this wine is young - except the age. Light in colour, like a wine from 2020 and not 2004. On the nose it is reticent, giving some little citrus and stern minerality. With time in the glass there's also some non-sweet lychée. Very firm, elegant and precise. Very puritanical. (Since I scored the previous bottle, I have recalibrated my scores to take out the inflation and revert to the original meaning. This score means the wine is excellent, and better than the previous bottle.)

February 4, 2022 - Aromas of citrus and some lychee in the beginning, and difficult to define. After a while more evident Sauvignon Blanc aromas. Rich, dry and concentrated on the palate. Also some elegance. Surprisingly young and fresh for the age. Impressive!

October 4, 2018 - A Whiter Shade of Pale: Featuring Killer Chablis (Martina, Mpls): Light gold color. Drank a glass over 45 minutes. A brilliant backup bottle from Leo tonight. I love this nose; killer earthy ocean aromas, a little basement funk, saline, a touch of that lacquer thing like Lopez whites, lemon with hints of gooseberry. The palate has fantastic lift, immense energy and that great briny earth and ocean mix, lemon curd, a touch of gooseberry, excellent crispness, and a long finish. Singing baby, singing....94+pts.

September 8, 2018 - Late Summer French Wine Dinner (Los Gatos, California): Pale. Grapefruit rind. Thrillingly lean, brisk, and mineral with some green herb. Terrific, will go on for a long time. Amazing showing for 14 year old Sauvignon.

May 19, 2017 - Best of the Worst (Vintages).

Started with lemony nose, with notes of pineapples coming thr' after sometime in the glass. Doesn't have that tautness/intensity and length on the palate that I can still recall of the '02. Nonetheless, a nice drink...

June 25, 2016 - Fine wine, but too much 2004 and not enough Pouilly-Fumé. May be early days yet for this wine.

May 27, 2016 - Very dry and crumbly cork despite being stored on its side for 9+ years. Dark yellow in color. On first opening, not much on either the nose or palate. After a half hour, both emerged with an unusual, but nice floral nose for a Sauv. Blanc. Minerals and steel on the palate. Still some life left, but I would not wait much longer.

December 20, 2015 - side by side with a 2007 (DDs last personal vintage). The 2004 was heading on the downside, but still lovely (with oysters). The 2007 was head and shoulders above.
