October 17, 2012 - Still shows good fruit. Aging has not harmed this wine.

March 10, 2008 - Not the best Lagrein by any means but very pleasant. The nose offered great notes of steel, briar, blackberry, stewed plum, and unruptured black cherry. In the mouth the fruit is bold and incredibly smooth, mostly dominated by plum notes with hints of blackberry acidity that is delicate and so subtley balanced. There are also some nice peppery cedar tannins that frame the wine nicely up front and in the back of the mouth, however it seems to lack much of any mid-palette - fruit, tannin or otherwise. The finish is smooth and delightful, and it's in the wines after taste that much of it's most interesting complexities come out: graphite and bacon smoke, leather aromas, black cherry acidity, and finally a cleansing steel minerality that takes almost 10 seconds to fully develop.
