December 14, 2019 - I've been trying to buy a bottle of this for four years. I'm a big fan of the Chris Ringland El Nido wines, and most of the Juan Gile Estate reds. Mostly this means Clio, the Juan Gil 18 Meses, and Alaya Tierra which are $47,$32, and $29 respectively. I realized that the only way to buy Cortei in New York was to bid for it at winebid.com - $105 became $132.77 after fees and waiting four months for the weather to change so I could gte my hands on what I'd ordered.
A huge, heavy bottle, obvious glycerine, dark crimson and an amazing nose - a bright kola/sarsparilla that I've never seen before in a wine. This has the fruit forward style seen in Clio but with a spiciness from the Syrah. It was delicious and, whilst being a weighty, big wine it was finished too quickly. A serious food friendly red wine that deserves a special meal and could do with more time. I will look to buy more of this wine, despite its price point.1 person found this helpful Comment -

December 7, 2019 - Super juicy and rich. Brilliant acidity keeping it super focused. Much deeper and richer than when I tried it a few years back and didnt see it evolving much then . Interesting.

November 18, 2015 - A flashy modern wine to be consumed relatively young. High alcohol, sugar and abundant fruit. 16 year old grapes means it lacks the depth of body that youd expect from a similar Ringlamd style Aussie shiraz but still a lovelly wine with a really great colour. At times lends itself to a slightly soapy texture.

December 15, 2014 - Serious wine but not for everyone. Had this along side a ribeye at Delfrisco's and it did not disappoint. Great color. A serious syrah that is not for anyone that does not like a fruit bomb. Dry and tannic but massive fruit and delicious. If you are a fan of this sort of wine, you can't go wrong here. Long finish
