January 19, 2020 - Mid+ ruby cherry to crimson edges.
Bright fresh aromas of Bing cherry and ripe red plum at first morph to Morello cherries steeped in liquor, some volatility, hung game and undergrowth. Savoury elements and old toughened orange peel completed.
A searing fresh acidity on entry complete with noted stem inclusion and flavours of white pepper. A fairly solid wine, the tannins are grippy and thick yet balanced with a bright, energetic acidity which support tinned morello cherries, cherry sorbet and some dark fruit with a hint of savoury leather notes. The wine seems well-integrated and better than a previous bottle—It finishes long with a cherry skin texture.
