    December 19, 2016 - The ‘67 was beautiful in its maturity, as a wave of dusty earth, dried florals, minerals and a hint of caramel lifted from the glass. On the palate, it was zesty, displaying a mix of savory minerals, dried herbs and hints of worn spice. The finish was shorter than I’d hoped, yet still wonderfully balanced and refined, with a lingering hint of citrus, red berry and dried inner florals.

    March 10, 2016 - Required more than an hour to settle down on the nose as it initially displayed faint wet rag aromas. Dry tart cherry on the palate, bitter orange notes, dry soil finish. Good structure, albeit with a thinner more elegant style. Slight barnyard notes across the midpalate. Beautiful cherry acid on the backpalate. Bottle was in great shape, but this is a drink now

    February 16, 2015 - Great wine. Gained weight over 3 hours and kep on pushing limitis for old wine. Fruits, leather and beautifully smells. Wouw. Great wine.

    October 27, 2013 - Rare Wine Co's Giacosa Riserva Dinner (Del Posto Restaurant, NYC): Glorious mature nose of dried cherries with hints of licorice and cinnamon. Ethereal in the mouth. Totally mature but with the juicy fruit (cherries and apples) of a totally alive wine. Fading as it sits in the glass. No reason to wait, if you are lucky enough to own this great wine.

    January 28, 2012 - Acker Merrall Second Chicago Auction (Elysian Hotel - Chicago IL): Floral nose showing rose and summer flowers along with leather, truffle, tobacco and licorice. Palate is red fruit also with leather, along with tightly wound acidity and lots of energy, a bit of sweetness on finish. Lean and tightly coiled through moderately long finish.
