Community Tasting Notes 6

April 9, 2019 - Very good. When I first opened it, this wine seemed surprisingly advanced - a bit dusty and almost over the hill, showing some tertiary flavors. I was worried about its storage conditions.

But by the second day, the wine had really perked up and integrated nicely. The fruit came out - that bright cherry cola fruit so typical of the 2013s - while those slightly aged flavors remained.

Bottom line, this is really coming into maturity and is in a great spot right now. Maybe a different bottle wouldn't taste as advanced, but this hits a sweet spot for me with some characteristics of aged pinot while still retaining the vibrancy of youth.

This was my first Purple Hands wine, and now I'd love to seek out some more.

December 12, 2017 - This is nice Pinot drinking. Kind of light colored and flavored, but good balance so good to drink. Could have a couple years upside. Wish I had the patience and quantity.

September 23, 2016 - Light in color, tart and juicy berries, appealing since of place. Medium plus acid, balanced, solid finish. 90-91.

August 27, 2016 - On the light side but still with a layered palate. Good fruit but the cherry cola doesn't overwhelm. It has an interesting smokiness. Drinking very well with a roast chicken.
