Community Tasting Notes 21

July 1, 2023 - Seemed overripe and lacking freshness. Notes of earth, fruit compote, harsh dry tannins. I don’t know if it’s this bottle but I don’t see it improving.

December 27, 2022 - "The stench is dissipating" (Chicago, IL): Served double blind. Obviously Burgundy pinot noir of very high quality. Incredibly fresh, to the point that I thought that this was a recent release -- that's how beautiful the red fruit showed. Ripe and full-bodied made a grand cru a reasonably easy guess. I actually managed to guess that this was Jadot from the crystalline red fruit, but I thought it was 15 years younger. A lovely, stunning bottle of negoce Jadot (something that I admittedly would not deign to buy). Nothing like the bottle I was served at the Heritage blind tasting a few years ago.

October 17, 2021 - Good nose of red berries, spice and richness. On the palate this was fresh and robust with red and dark fruits. Really nice texture. Strong mid palate and finish. Just entering peak. 91+

July 23, 2021 - 2002 #Jadot #Latricieres #GrandCru #Burgundy. Ready to go. Pure, red and black cherry with savory, skin and fruit notes. Some ripe black licorice notes on an otherwise dark red frame. Medium acidity. Medium+ bodied. Lithe texture with resolved blackish tannin. Slight bitterness and greenness to the tannin. Some clear alcohol tasted on the otherwise smooth, rounded finish. 92-93).

March 19, 2021 - Mature black cherry and plum with roasted meat and good+ density. good length, finishing with spice notes. Probably just as mature as another bottle from last month, but more concentration and nuance, so better.
