January 15, 2024 - Cork crumbled a bit but the wine was in great shape. Warm climate style with a velvety mouthfeel, ripe blackberry fruit and warm earthy cinnamon, pepper and aniseed, and smoked meats. Probably not improving further but didn't seem at all tired. This was my only bottle but would have had years left.

    September 16, 2023 - That is WOTN undoubtedly, 95/96

That 2005 is catching up with is elder bro from 2004, now the lighter style Syrah more than Shiraz does here a perfect job, this is by far on my standards probably the best Syrah in Australia, and I ve tasted quite a few. To me that wine overshadows most Barossa jammy wines.

On the nose the wine shows loads of sooth, smoke, ashes, dark berries, it is a bit "off", barnyard also, but like some old French Northern Rhône. It switches constantly from fruits to, forrest floor, and sooth, ...

Palate is vibrant, with tangy acidity that balances a well defined tannic structure, rounded soft tannins are lifted by fruit, slices of evolution, in a long olive, tapenade finish... the wine stands in the palate and shows still an oddly perfect capacity to age some 10 more years as it still shows good fruit, and enough tannins and acidity toehold for at least 5 more years... What a treat !

Still have 6 more in store !!! yihaaaa

March 19, 2023 - The wife and I loved this wine. It opens with a barnyard funk but that is gone after a 1 hour decant. The 1st hour was a really tight wine with almost no fruit, but it opens nicely with just the hint of black cherry and black pepper after that 1 hour decant. We enjoyed this with a dinner of Morgan Ranch wagyu tri tip steaks, yellow rice, and broccoli.

    January 3, 2023 - Medium granular sediment.
    Deep red.
    Complex, leathery, olive, mushroom.
Rich, ripe, leathery yet elegant, complex, balanced, long. Has Kinzbrunner’s fingerprints all over it.
Beautiful balance. Mature but will live for many years.
    Wonderful Shiraz.

May 1, 2022 - Savoury, elegant and delicious. Game, olive and cigar box. Taught, talented middle weight boxer, punching above its price point. Drink now or hold. (94 Excellent wine)
