Community Tasting Notes 23

  • @jaykay Likes this wine:

January 14, 2020 - Getting quite old by the time this was drunk. Nose f apricots and ? old roses. Heady perfume, yellow to golden colour. Taste quite like thee bouquet with oily richness. Just a little tired. Good to have consumed.

August 26, 2018 - Ripe tropical fruits and a lovely mouthfeel. Went very well with scallops.

  • quaffnov Does not like this wine: 86 points

February 14, 2018 - No formal note, this style of wine does not fall into what I enjoy, this was like drinking a lemon/orange creamcicle, there was not enough acidity to hold up the almost cloying sweetness this had to offer.

January 18, 2018 - Fairly consistent with previous notes/bottles, by which I mean that it was completely different with each sip. Less interesting than in its youth, it is settling on being a riper Viognier, but with interesting notes of bitters, orange skin, and minerals, that come and go with time.

November 23, 2017 - Unlike my earlier experiences with this wine, it was clearly Viognier, and in a riper style. Still quite interesting, but also ripe and without the depth it had a year ago. Perhaps id didn't get enough air (though I drank it over about five hours) or perhaps it just is on the downswing.
