April 2, 2014 - Marsannay @ Vinotecca (Vinoteca, Smithfield, London): Sour cherry nose. A little disjointed. Slightly weird and astringent. Nose reminds one of industrial loo cleaner. No, coal tar soap emerging. Pretty strongly. Really unpleasant.

February 20, 2011 - This was drinking nicely. Unlike other tasters I found that the wine gained a lot with aeration.

June 10, 2009 - Really didn't know what to expect - my first 2004 burgundy.
From 375 ml.
nose: dust and earth takes center stage. Not funky or barnyardy at all, just a damp earth quality.
palate: balanced well between earth, fruit, acid and tannin. Charred earth and very faint spice notes over rhubarb/red fruit mash. I'd prefer this with food over sipping, but there is nothing not tasty about it. How's that for an unnecessary double negative? -

May 23, 2009 - From half. Pretty disappointing and angular, overt and unintegrated oak. Not sure what's going on as the last bottle was nice. I would hold for a while.

October 12, 2008 - Dinner AC Gary Rona and gang -- showing pretty lean and mean yet again, real tough love even for the Francophiles. Some tea notes, bright cherry, zesty acidity and some vegetal notes tho.
