November 5, 2017 - Drank via Coravin over three nights. Each night, it needed 60-90 minutes to warm up and open up, but once it did, it was beautiful. On the pale side, and not a blockbuster, but gives immense pleasure. Complex, with good aromatic lift. Great now, but will likely stay good for another 3-7 years or more.

January 17, 2015 - Popped and poured at Tribeca Grill. I hadn't drunk any 2004 burgs for several years, but decided to roll the dice since the price for this was less than the price of mid tier young village wines (from better years) on the menu. Not a home run, but the wine had some good qualities. The nose was a bit restrained, with a bit of barnyard stench (surprising for a Drouhin) which blew off after about 20 minutes. The color was fine. On the palate, there was still a fair amount of red fruit, although (not surprisingly) not as ripe as in a good year, and moderately harsh tannins. Over time the wine improved a bit and developed a bit of secondary complexity. Overall, it was interesting and an ok value, but certainly not a grand cru quality experience.

June 14, 2014 - drank with friends, wife's legendary home made pizza. Absolutely a poem! Beautiful wine, with funkiness and enough structure and body for a heavier dish.

September 5, 2010 - Starts out with incredibly pure, sappy red fruited and black cherry flavours tinged with earth and rose petals. This is very young but already offering a lot of pleasure with a beautiful finessed texture, surprisingly gentle tannins and bright, refreshing acidity. Barely a sign of the '04 greenies at first, though with some air it picks up some herbal and citric aspects that stay in the background and add complexity and a sense of freshness rather than detracting from the bright fruit and floral elements. Lovely wine.
