February 8, 2021 - Rumor is DRC sold its Gaudichots juice to Potel. Certainly the most structured and boldest wine today, reminiscent of La Tache on the palate. The nose is green, stony, grassy, very characteristic of the vintage and less so of LT. Still, very very good. 93

February 23, 2020 - Progresses steadily from an initial, "not bad, better than I feared it might be" to "wow, this is damn fine stuff." It's holding on to more youthful fruit ripeness than anything I've had from the vintage in a long time, and does still have a stemmy streak but not in the fashion of the 2004 greenie meanies. Regardless, the stemminess does mellow and segue into something almost spicy, not the usual Vosne 5-spice mix but snappier stuff like cardomom and black pepper. But it's the body and texture that really shows off its class, at least after a good 30 minutes or so to flesh out. It's expansive and mouthfilling yet that plum-tinged red fruit fills the space in an airy fashion, with the texture and weight of lace. Grand cru presence here.

July 31, 2018 - Considerably better than the previous bottle, 2-1/2 years ago. This wine has fresh, spicy, intense red currants and cherries in a medium-light body. Good energy and crispness. Delicious to drink now, but it should hold and even improve.
My understanding is that this wine came from a plot owned by Charles Thomas, a member of the Moillard family, and when Moillard made its big sale to Dujac and de Montille in 2005, this parcel transferred to Domaine Forey.

May 25, 2018 - Slow-ox 30 minutes, tasted over 2 hrs
-med dark red mild bricking
-generous spicy mature elements smoked meat savory component
-med acidity lends a mildly tart twang to an initially exuberantly spicy med- weight sappy mid-palate that shuts down somewhat after an hour, mild wood spice, slightly dried out med- tannins and very good length
-while not exceptional, this bottle is excellent now, probably on prime drinking plateau as I'd worry the tannins may further dry out with much more time - a feature of the vintage, however this bottle really doesn't have that much of the '04 pyrazines -

January 6, 2016 - Following a disastrous experience with Jadot's 2004 Clos St-Jacques today, I decided to try this wine. I guess there's good news and bad news. The good news is the comparison to the Jadot: plenty of red in the color and the wine tasted pretty good with food once a strange chemical aroma blew off. The bad news: not what I would hope for from Gaudichots; it was rather thin (due, I suppose, to the high altitude of the vineyard and the lack of ripeness in the vintage) and not very intense. But at least there is hope as ten years out is not a great time to judge a wine, and it may still be in a shut-down phase. A gray market import cellared since release.
