January 27, 2023 - Some amazing Burgs à trois: Darker fruited that the Côtes de Beaune that preceded it. Feels very youthful for a 19 year old wine. The nose reveals a little House of Lords' leather, some liquorice and some demerara sugar, not sure if the vintage character coming through but this palate doesn't quite deliver on the promise of the nose. Good without taking my breath away.

September 8, 2020 - I was nervous opening this wine but...the cork was perfect, the wine took an hour or so to really open up, and it tasted just fine. A fair amount of fruit left, color just a little tending towards brown, and a tiny bit of bitterness on the back end. But very nice with smoked brisket! No complaints.

    October 13, 2018 - Slow-ox 1 hr, tasted over 2 hrs
-nearly semi-translucent dark red mild bricking
-some vegetal '04 stems with an underlying earthy cherry
-med acidity, med/med- weight faded cherry earth sousbois some '04 greenness, med dried out tannins
-this wine I really enjoyed when it was younger, but this bottle is unfortunately past its prime and suffers from what is, in my opinion, the greatest fault with '04 red Burgs - dried out tannins

March 27, 2016 - Looking much older than it is. Fading fast.

October 26, 2015 - Burg v Kiwi Pinot Noir: Served blind to friends beside the 2009 Kiwa. On opening, on bouquet and palate the wine seemed flawed. But after decanting and four hours air time it was in much better shape. Served blind, none of the tasters initially picked the vintage or saw any pyrazines issue. However, once everyone knew what it was, they did notice a herby or minty note to the wine. It was not overpowering and did not spoil the wine. An attractive, light bouquet of raspberry, strawberry and a little dry straw. On palate, a pleasant, lighter, obviously Burgundian village level wine (tasters had it as a Gevrey). Less than medium weight, showing good acidity. The flavours were herby, earthy and a bit funky, with raspberries and loganberries. The wine was showing no immediate sign of falling over but I would drink it soon. I wouldn't expect it to improve.
