February 3, 2023 - {screwcap, 13.5%} Fabulous wine. Gorgeously aged cabernet-accent fruits. Against Bdx, it's more fruity, with less suggestion of oak and structure. A touch malty, but pretty good overall. Low/medium dusty tannin, medium/high acidity. Black fruit as you'd expect, no hint of green, but also not raisined or jammy. This will get ever more volatile with age; it's lovely now and should hold for a few years but really I'd suggest getting into it now.

November 12, 2021 - Excellent. Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, merlot, Malbec. 13.5% alc.
    Colour: full red berries
Bouquet: ripe berries and plums, smokey, vanilla
Palate: like bouquet, intense sweet and sour fruit and acid, mint, soft tannins, full bodied, long clean finish. Quite voluptuous. Wears its age very easily - helped by the screw cap? The acid is not sufficiently balanced by the tannins and fruit though.
Drinks beautifully on 2nd night too. Acid a little more balanced. Some delicatessen characters on nose, more full bodied.

October 13, 2017 - Subdued nose of cassis, dusty earth, leather and plum. Tannins are fine, but there’s an overtly acidic finish that throws the whole thing out of balance for me. Others may not mind so much.

September 7, 2017 - Screwcap. Nothing jumps out on the nose, but there are mild notes of berry fruit and earth, and time in the glass reveals spicy hints of pepper and sambuca. Palate has a soft, cotton-ball mouthfeel and mild flavours of apple, blackcurrant, and cranberry. There's a rich earthy character in the background - a touch of truffle - and a pleasant hint of sour milk on the finish. A delightful wine: soft, delicate, and complex.

January 3, 2015 - New Zealand / Australia Trip Dec 2014 / Jan 2015; 12/14/2014-1/8/2015 (Auckland, Martinborough, Christchurch, Sydney, Hunter Valley): 57% cab sav, 32% Shiraz
Rich nose, big black currant fruit, liquorice, some tobacco & savoury development
Plenty of tannin to resolve, big flavours but the palate seems to lack a bit of concentration for the price
