January 9, 2013 - Popped and poured. The nose is fairly class grand cru Burgundy. Smoky, sappy, a fair amount of oak, but not too much. A bit of earth but I won't call it funky. In the mouth it is bit leaner. I'd call it "grand cru lite", that is it has some nice classic character, but it is not particularly intense or complex. Not too surprised by that give this producer in this vintage. Certainly in the modern style. Nice fruit, moderate acidity and tannin. The length is moderate. But overall a very nice wine and quite approachable now. I don't see it as needing any more time.

August 24, 2010 - First taste after being open for 1 1/2 hours - First poor a little disappointing, but I guess not a surprise. Funk, Wood/Stemmy, Cherry, and a hint of heat. More put together upon tasting, tart cherry, hints of oak, earth/funk, with a hint of spice. A pretty lush feel with a solid finish. After about 2 1/2 hours with dinner - It's really starting to open up with some time in the glass. Rich red fruits, oak still present, some earth and spice as well. Upon tasting the cherry component is a bit tart, and it's really starting to round out on the palate with a nice finish and feel (although somewhat tannic or acidic on the end of he finish).

July 22, 2010 - pretty advanced for a 6 yr old gc. not sure it will make old bones. sweet fruit, more wood than I like but less than I expected from this producer, who in general doesn't float my boat. has a few markings of 2004 and doesn't have the depth one would expect of a gc. decent but not worth the price.

February 14, 2010 - Was quite surprised how big this was...certainly not the size of the Melville Terraces served next to it, but closer than one would expect. Initially, lots of manure on the nose, though most eventually blew off leaving dark red fruits and a hint of barnyard. Enjoyable to drink, seems to be in a pretty good spot.
