Community Tasting Notes 5

November 30, 2023 - Good colour, not showing much age. On first taste, I thought it could do with another few years. As it opened up, it was delicious, with all components well integrated. No hurry with a few other bottles.
edit: next day even better, quite lovely, quite intense, integrated and balanced!

April 30, 2018 - Red fruit on the nose, spices, quite ripe and generous. On the palate good concentration and balance, bright acidity, nice structure and balance. Medium length. Very good. 90-92

January 15, 2017 - a nice, ripe nose of red and black fruit come about with noticeable oak (not intrusive), bits of licorice, violet and earl grey spice. pliant, suave and minerally in the mouth with an almost plushness to the fruit today. Very good potential for moderate aging.

February 6, 2016 - Tasted at the Sampler, London. One of the staff members was a young lady who turned out to be from my rather small home town. She now lives in London, studying for the MW exam. I wished her good luck as the Swiss still wait for their second MW after Phillip Schwander (coincidentally also from my home town and college friend of mine) completed the task in the 90ies. She walked me through the wines that evening. Great curation and discussions, fab evening. If you are ever in London, as an oenophile better hang out here after work instead of the local pub with the pint slurping brady bunch. TN: Light garnet. Expressive nose of red cherries, strawberries with a hint of grape stalks. Light bodied with excellent purity and freshness and good dry extract, very lovely. Fragrant and elegant. Ready now.

August 4, 2015 - Sweet, raw red fruit. Too sweet for me!
