October 12, 2021 - Tasted at bodega. From coravin. 66% Carmenere, 19% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. A warm year. Still uses pre-phylloxera vines planted in 1920. Biodynamic and organic. Native yeast fermentation in small oak vats. 100% new French oak barrels for 24 months. Not fined, cold stabilized or filtered. 5,084 cases made. A bit of bricking on the edges showing its age compared to the 2017. Nose of savoury Carmenere herbal notes and smoked pepper, mint, ripe dark fruit and some emerging tertiary notes of mushrooms and earth. The palate is of course smoother than the 2017, but there are still plenty of tannins to resolve and still more than the 2018 Petit Clos tasted beside it. It’s a little more savoury overall than the 2017 too which could be due to the age but also more Carmenere and less Merlot in the blend even though both were hot vintages. 95+

July 15, 2021 - Staying with previous notes and score but over the last 2 years this has begun its transition and the enjoyment window is closing IMO.

A tad more bricking around the edges and the fruits have begun to fade but still delivers a nice blend that is really best with food.

January 24, 2021 - Impenetrably saturated dark purple/black. Huge nose just LOADED with sweet, super ripe, concentrated black and red fruits, spice, herb switches and spicy new oak. Exceedingly rich and full bodied with a huge amount of tannin. Wow, I REALLY wish I had waited a few more years on this one. This is difficult to rate! It's a bit out of balance and overbearing for my taste, but lovers of full-throttle wines will LOVE this. 93??

December 18, 2020 - Decanted 2 hours. Improved since my last bottle 2 years ago. Less heat and more complexity. P93(-) pts. at the moment.
