  August 15, 2023 - Drink now, after giving a couple of hours of air. Worthwhile to decant off sediment. Once this has opened up it is classic Tours, perfect pairing with confit de canard. If your cellar is very cool no need to rush this as doesn't profile like one of the 20+ year Tours agers. No reason not to enjoy now...

  July 9, 2023 - Decanted off a bit of sediment & aerated well in advance. This started out with the classic ethereal Tours nose but the palate was a bit hot. With another hour of air and with the classic-chez-nous duck breast pairing this was in the groove. Just smile when I read 'vin de pays" on the label... This still has some fine tannins and a bit of acidity so no rush to finish well-stored bottles - but why not

  April 29, 2023 - Reynaud Tasting (Freiheit Vinothek, Ulm, Germany): Glass: Spiegelau Universal
  All wines tasted blind/blind, opened a few hours before and decanted right before the tasting.
  Clear, deep ruby-garnet color. Deep, spicy nose with sweet fruit. On the palate also very dense, sweet red fruit, a bit sweet/sour. Medium+ length. Better, more balanced and complex than the Fonsalette 2011, certainly the better PQR. 89-90

  December 16, 2022 - 13.5% alcohol. Very short anonymous cork, but the quality is vg. Opened 90mn ahead and poured a glass to provide exposure to air (not the approved method, I know, but I will be able to report on the state of the rest of the bottle tomorrow after 24 h of exposure to air). Pale hue, half way between rosé and red, and not quite limpid; browning at the edge of the rim.
  Enchanting nose with a cocktail of red wild berries, grenadine and rose petals. The mouth is not far behind with a concentration that belies the colour, good mouthfeel and superb acidity; only at times does the alcohol protrude a bit, giving an impression of fruit macerated in spirit.
  Went very well with veal in a creamy mushroom sauce, but even better on its own afterwards.
  If acquired at source (or close to it), this bottle costs low to mid double figures in €, which has to be vg value. Still a style to be experienced sparingly for me, as I would grow tired of quickly enough.
  PS:the next day, the remaining half of the bottle has not improved significantly; if anything it is slightly worse than the first half in that it has acquired a slightly bitter component in the finish (nothing major, but still something that I could do without).
