November 23, 2023 - Nice, subtle, med- body / finish for a PN. Those who like robust, fruit forward wines (like my wife) may not appreciate this bottle!

March 26, 2022 - Burgundian like; IMHO like some Littorai Anderson Valley PN. Red fruit, sour cherries, silky tannins and weightless on the palate. The pleasure of this wine is the nose and front palate. The finish evaporates mid palate leaving me wishing for more.

August 6, 2021 - Less offensive than my bottle from 8/10/20. Less sewer, more body. Cork wet halfway to top, slight rust color, but no nose or taste of oxydation.

August 10, 2020 - By "damp earth" and "forest floor," do they mean "swamp gas?" In the glass, this is ruby with just a fourish of rust, and no sediment. On the nose, there is sewer and red berry. The mouthfeel is thin, the flavor... Can't name it. There is astringent red fruit, and then something I can't name. Butterscotch comes to mind, but without the sweetness, if that makes any sense. Had this with leftover pizza, which certainly helped it along. I can't say I've had great luck with Knez (a few different bottles from Demuth and Cerise, 2012-2013) and they've mostly been not great. Certainly, for what I paid, I've had much more consistently excellent bottles from Sojourn, Navarro, and even Anthill and Lioco.

June 9, 2020 - Purplish garnet and translucent. A: forest berries, earth, mushroom F: softer and rounder than the Cerise, drinking very well with brief decant. Dark cherry and berry fruit to complement the damp earth. Moderate length.

Probably equivalent in enjoyment but have to differentiate from the cerise by giving this the slightly lower score.
